The Hibiki 21 Year Old represented the pinnacle of Suntory’s blending art—crafted for connoisseurs who seek depth, rarity, and harmony. Consequently, it combined the finest aged malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu with exceptionally mature grain whisky from Chita. Moreover, its legendary status grew after Suntory discontinued it in 2019.

Aged in Rare and Diverse Casks

This expression included components matured for over two decades in ex-Bourbon, Sherry, and Mizunara oak casks. In fact, the Hibiki 21 Year Old derived its signature sandalwood, incense, and dried fruit complexity from these carefully curated casks, blended to achieve seamless integration.

Opulent, Layered, and Exquisitely Balanced

Bottled at 43% ABV, this whisky delivers profound richness without heaviness. As a result, it layers fig, prune, and dark honey over cinnamon, clove, and polished oak. Additionally, the extended maturation imparts a waxy, velvety texture that defines its luxurious mouthfeel.

Tasting Experience

First, the nose opens with dried apricot, beeswax, and orange marmalade, followed by sandalwood, leather, and a hint of tobacco. Then, subtle floral and vanilla notes emerge with air.

On the palate, the texture is sumptuous and full. Flavors of plum, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and Mizunara spice unfold with elegance. The alcohol feels perfectly integrated, adding warmth and structure.
